life's a beach

I am freakin' excited about cousin Arnette's 18th birthday!

And I am organizing the party. Oh yes! I love doing this kind of stuff, organizing events, seminars and surprises.
It's gonna be a beach party-- either in Anhawan or Sol y Mar. Not sure yet though but I have started the important details, thanks to my blogberry planner I'm having good time dealing with this thing.

I am excited for my cousin turning into a lady! I will make it sure it's gonna be a BLAST!
I hope everything will just run smoothly for I have several months to prepare everything. :)

Hey, I have made plans already. Perhaps I should start doing some things sooner coz I might be busy this summer. Life, now I have something to do aside from eating. haha

Live band..fire dance..bonfire..torches..summer dresses and hawaiian tops..flipflops..good food..cold night sea breeze..great food..awesome friends and loving family--these are just some of the details.. subject to change though. I must make this an night everybody at the party won't forget. :D

I Wasn't Prepared to Die

It was February 5, 2011 (Saturday).

Oh yes, that was the day I was waiting for: the Concepcion get away with my cousin Arnette and my co-nurses at the hospital. Everybody was excited for my post birthday celebration.

We left Sta. Barbara at around 7:45am, the six of us: Arnette, Tina , Rhea, Tata, Albert and me. Jezreel and Rush were to meet us at Tagbak terminal where the buses for oncepcion are situated. Off we took the 2.5 hours bus ride ready for adventure.

Nong Jimmy, who owns our hired pump-boat, together with his wife, Nang Badiding and daughter Twinkle were already at the port when we arrived since I called them upon arriving in Sara terminal. As usual, the view was picturesque with Mt. Manaphag towering among the other islands. I'm thankful that the weather was good there for it was raining from Ajuy to Sara when we passed by earlier that morning. Great! No rain, no big waves will perfectly suit us, I thought.

The 20-minute pump-boat ride was fine. Nang Badiding and I were talking about the other islands to my companions. I ahppen to know about this family last September 2010 when I went island hopping  in Concepcion for 3 days with Arnette and two other friends. We hired Nong Jimmy's pump-boat and his family were hospitable to the four of us.

At last, we were nearing Bulobadiangan island where the infamous Sandbar Island resort is situated. We could see th sandbar covered with water for it was hight tide that time (noon time). Off we go, unloaded our belongings. I'm so glad to see my friends happy. They liked the place as I've expected. This was my 3rd time in the island and my 5th in Concepcion and I never grew tired of going there. Concepcion's islands are my haven, my ultimate get away when I have time and money. i love the town and it's people for they are warm, welcoming and hospitable. I am actually in love with the town and is promoting it's tourism to other people. Now, I'm back for the 5th time, with more friends who have never been to this wonderful place.

2010 I L♥VE!

I live for LOVE and ADVENTURE. I love nature as much as I love trips just anywhere but the metro or city.
The year 2010 is about to end and I reminisce my 'tarays' for this year. Most of these trips are unplanned and I have not shed out a lot of money for these loved places for I have no money--nada. Haha. Seriously. I am just blessed, loved and oh yeah, one hell of a lucky girl with great friends and family.

This 2010 is so special for me for I have gone to some of these for the first time and experience this and that for the first time (first, surely not the last) in my 22 years of existence on this good earth.

February 24-25, 2010.
I am exactly sure of the date (so lazy to go upstairs to check my organizer.tsk).
It's my 2nd time in Concepcion .I was in 4th year college when I went there the last time)

This was supposed to be a Guimaras trip as I remember and we UNEXPECTEDLY ended up going to Concepcion.

Sandbar Island Resort in Bulobadiangan Island

Sweet Serenity

I told myself, I WILL COME BACK. I feel at home and relaxed on this island. :D

3rd time in concepcion: 3rd island that iv been to.I had to separate ways with rovi and friends--alone in the bangka' on my way to Tambaliza Island where sissy kate and her family awaits me.

I enjoyed the almost 40min-ride on the pumpboat--under the scorching heat of the sun. yes, this pumpboat ride gave me my sunburns! tsk.

Rovi and her friends, my new acquaintances: stayed with them overnight and boarded bus with them, too. they wetre bound to teh other side of teh island (pan de azucar) that i was headed so i had to sepaarte ways and rode the banka alone. super panultol. twas FUN!

Made friends with mga manong sa bangka so that I can ahve my pictures taken.haha. Sa punta gid ko nagpungko para maka sight seeing. ULTIMATE SUNBURNS la pa ka swim! :D

Goofing around with 'kapitan'. learned a lot of things about Concepcion all throughout the trip from manong (the pumpboat ride was about 30mins, nami2x sang view--islands everywhere!)

Someday, I will climb that mountain behind me.

Woke up early and unexpectedly we went to:

HINIGARAN, NEG. OCC.
Had to go back to Bacolod City first before going there (approx. 2 hours away from Bacolod), had to ate breakfast on the way to Hinigaran-take out. Tsk.

Okay man ang byahe, though still t\very titred from the other day's adventure. I couldn't believe we're going to Hinigaran in a family friend's house! Ate early lunch and went to Canonoy Beach Resort there (owned by Angel Locsin's uncle). Had to borrow clothes from my friend kay unplanned gid, la bayo. Had to buy clothes again after the  swimming sa beach which lasted only for an hour I guess..

Ginkupitan ni Auntie si Kuya 500 kag gunhatag sa akon, ang bilis ng karma uy! dahil sobrang excited kumain ng talaba (Hinigaran's tagged as Talaba capital of Negros), napilas ko. Almost fainted! Goodness, lots of blood kay medyo dalum gid pilas ko. karma gd!

JETSKI

This was my first time to try the jetski and dang, I got hooked! Super fun and init--we were in the middle of the sea, far from the beach front. Floating huts in the sea! This is where we got off from the Banana boat.

'floating huts'  where the jetskis are located--they have a round track for the jetski riders to follow
sunog na ko di.

My turn!
with arnette

I will never forget my 1st jetski ride because I had to be Arnette's angkas, nahulog ko sa tunga dagat! OMG gid. MAyo' man la ko nag panic and I had my life vest man. When it was my turn, gindasig ko man but la nahulog si cousin. haha.

For more photos, please click Banana Boat ride + Jetski

MARINE WALK/ HELMET DIVING

Right after the Jetski rides, we sped off through a speed boat and proceeded to the deeper part of the sea where another boat awaits us for our Helmet Diving. I was siper excited and at the same time paranoid of what may happen underwater. haha. I am scared of diving!

tried catcing fishes agai

Dina, Me and Arnette
This was an amazing experience. I conquered my fear of diving for I have always thought of an article about a diver who lost his sense of hearing underwater. That was because of too much pressure and the site was deeper. But ours was just 13 feet  deep, cant cause deafness if ever something happens. I did it!

For more photos, pleasw click : Marine Walk/ Helmet Diving

We were all tired after the days activities. Tired and burnt! :)  Walked through the night, declined an invitation from a group of foreigners to party at a newly opened bar at the other side of the island. Slept tight and went home early the next day.

What a road trip home-- sa lain na part sang Capiz kami nag agi nman and had lunch in Roxas where there are a lot of seafoods to partake. :)
THAT ENDS MY SUMMER ADVENTURE!

Concepcion in April. Nine days all over the Metro Manila, 4 days in Negros Occidental adventure and 3 days fun Boracay escapade in May. :)

The Summer I would never forget!  Never! :)

SEPTEMBER : CONCEPCION ISLAND HOPPING!

September came, the long awaited Concepcion trip happened. I really love Concepcion,. I have long waited for this to happen, even tried to invite as many friends as possible.
Along with Milok, my cousin Arnette and her friend Ther tagged along. Just the four of us ready for adventure! :)

1st pit Stop: SANDBAR, BULOBADIANGAN ISLAND

My 2nd time in the island.

We had the island just for ourselves! :)

Milok, Arnette and Ther--the 4 of us had the place for ourselves. Enjoyed swimming and watching the beautiful sunset. Embracing nature at its best: the cold sea breeze, lightnings and stars. Nice nice.

Approaching Sandbar!
wow, we're complete here: all 4! haha

See what I mean? :) We settled in the night after our light drinking.

'Nag disco disco kami sa punta sang Sandbar, hit off our phones, to the loudest volume and dance danced! Gnhimu suga ang apat ka cellphones. And then, out of a sudden nagtuon sa amun nag search light sand isla;; daw spot light! haha. kahuluya gd! daw statue dance lng, nagtuon sa amun nag spotlight kag we stood frozen--our phones on our hands--FROZEN in our dance position! haha. abi nila kng anu guro ang ga siga2x sa unhan--bi nila emergency. hehe'

before we slept

The island has no electricity, light source at night is solar generated and they have a generator in case guests would need to charge their gadgets.
We slept well, all tipsy and the sound of waves were our lullabies. Fresh cold air rocked us to sleep. zzzzzzz

Day 2 :

Low low tide when we woke up! Jeeez! I was shocked.

low tide

After an hour, the water rose again.

It feels surreal, 2 years later and  Im back on this island. This is the first island of Concepcion that I've been to way back in college with my TOUGH TEN group mates and I fell in love the first time I set food on this island. Too bad we didn't have much time to explore the other side of the island where is a cliff and behind it is the open sea already.
